چکیده

Effective and economical carbon dioxide-methane separation (CO2/CH4) is highly desirable in several industries such as sweetening natural gases renewable gas (RNG) from biogas landfills. Among the different technologies, membrane has been shown to have lower cost of production CH4 losses. In this study, Zeolitic Imidazole Frameworks (ZIF-8) crystals with sizes varying 45 nm 450 were synthesized incorporated polymer intrinsic microporosity, PIM-1, form mixed matrix membranes (MMMs). The structure, morphology, physicochemical properties MMMs characterized by 1H NMR, FTIR, XRD, TGA, SEM. ZIF-8 crystal size was controlled using concentration sodium formate. influence on studied sorption, permeability, aging membranes. 120 particle diameter yielded greatest improvement transport properties; CO2/CH4 selectivity-CO2 permeability 11.4 9700 Barrer compared PIM-1 6.4 9300 respectively. former near Robeson 2008 upper bound, while 1991 bound. After 40 days aging, selectivity increased decreased; changes parallel bounds indicating packing diffusivity selectivity.

Mixed Matrix Membranes of Boron Icosahedron and Polymers of Intrinsic Microporosity (PIM-1) for Gas Separation

This work reports on the preparation and gas transport performance of mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) based on the polymer of intrinsic microporosity (PIM-1) and potassium dodecahydrododecaborate (K₂B12H12) as inorganic particles (IPs). The effect of IP loading on the gas separation performance of these MMMs was investigated by varying the IP content (2.5, 5, 10 and 20 wt %) in a PIM-1 polymer ma...

A Carbonaceous Membrane based on a Polymer of Intrinsic Microporosity (PIM-1) for Water Treatment

As insufficient access to clean water is expected to become worse in the near future, water purification is becoming increasingly important. Membrane filtration is the most promising technologies to produce clean water from contaminated water. Although there have been many studies to prepare highly water-permeable carbon-based membranes by utilizing frictionless water flow inside the carbonaceo...

Interaction of a Polymer of Intrinsic Microporosity (PIM-1) with Penetrants

The characterisation, solubility testing, and alcohol adsorption studies of PIM-1 are reported. Techniques used for characterisation are N2 sorption and ATR-FTIR analysis. A number of solvents were tested for their ability to dissolve low molecular weight (~30 000 gmol -1 ), medium molecular weight (~60 000 gmol -1 ), and high molecular weight (~120 000 gmol -1 ) PIM-1.Results showed solubility...
